caroline

Kristen recently had the pleasure of photographing sweet Caroline, and I could tell right away that she was my kind of girl… I love the monogram! Her blond hair and big blue eyes remind me of my Greta, who is around the same age. Kristen said she was a real sweetheart and I think that was conveyed perfectly in the images. And talk about a beautiful family!

chase at one year

Its been a year since we’ve last seen Chase, and I’d be lying if I said I didn’t swoon when I saw those big brown eyes and dimples (I’m a sucker for dimples). He’s a big boy… walking, talking, and loving up his mama especially. First birthday sessions are so much fun, as its truly a great time as far as personality and milestones go. Plus, by this age they really can fill out their clothing, so the possibilities for wardrobe are endless!

Here’s Chase before, both in his mama’s belly and out…

And now, just over a year old, with his absolute stunning mom and dad. What a gorgeous family!

giving back–empower women and eliminate racism

Not every home life is comprised of the traditional mom, dad, and child. Occasionally, life hands a difficult situation to those doing their very best to simply keep moving forward. In times like these, when faced with troubles, the YWCA of the Greater Capital Region is there to serve our region’s women and children. Women go to the YWCA in times of crisis, as survivors of rape or domestic violence. They come for job training and career counseling, child care, or for health and fitness. Whatever their reason or need, they leave with a renewed sense of being. Isn’t that what we all need now and then?

And so, ABP is dedicating the month of February  to the YWCA of the Greater Capital Region. According to Victoria Baecker, director of development at the Y, donations are vital to the very foundation and services that are provided to hundreds of women and children. “This past holiday season, we hosted our annual Adopt-a-Family program where we provided gifts for the over 100 women and children we serve. Those gifts were donated from community members and purchased with monetary donations. That program would not have happened without the generosity of our community.”

We encourage you to join us in giving back–to help continue to empower women and eliminate racism–the two core goals of the YWCA of the Greater Capital Region!

Note: ABP’s monthly charitable contributions are based on the proceeds from prints, products and sessions. Any session booked with a deposit received will be applicable to that month’s charitable organization, though the session may be held in the proceeding month.

finn, jane & family

Photographing newborn twins certainly poses its own set of challenges, but it is a pretty amazing thing… especially when you throw in two older siblings who love being with their new brother and sister. Finn and Jane are the third and fourth additions to this lovely family, and seem to be fitting in quite nicely. One of the most fascinating aspects as a photographer is capturing their similarities and differences, whether it be their personalities or their looks. I loved how the camera highlights how strikingly different they are. Finn, with his olive complexion, and Jane with her peaches and cream. Tanner and Molly are clearly smitten with the twins and at a great age to interact with them. The babies were pretty strong willed, but a little patience and full bellies were the key to success!
