fall 2010: now booking!

It’s that time of year again… time to start thinking ahead to fall, which is really not that far away! Our fall (September-November) calendar is now open. Scheduling priority will go to return clients and those on our waiting list. Over the past few years, the majority of fall weekend dates are booked almost immediately, and the rest of the season is usually filled up by the end of August at the latest. So, if you want to take advantage of the beautiful season and/or are interested in holiday portraits, now is the time to book! Our holiday session cutoff this year is November 15. We are booking both signature and short&sweet sessions (both fantastic options that you can choose depending on your wants & needs), and remember that we do take on a limited number of sessions per month. For those of you wanting to fit in a session before the summer is out, we do have a small handful of short&sweet sessions in August.

To reserve your session, please email ashley@ashleybrownphotography.com or call 518-396-9387.

I’ll leave you with an image from my Sunday session!

a country morning

Meet Conrad, who recently turned a year old, has a wardrobe to die for, and the cutest crinkly nose smile you’ll ever see. I had the pleasure of photographing this handsome man at his family’s farm in eastern New York. I don’t know how I get so lucky with these locations, but it was an absolute dream… fields, orchards, barns, views. It was a muggy morning and we covered a lot of ground (and four outfits!) but Conrad was a trooper and the results made it all worthwhile!

The first image in this set was taken in a beautiful stone gazebo where his parents got married. Love incorporating extra special places!

a new face to photograph!

I don’t normally post but about my life on the blog (because honestly, why bore you with it when you can see all of these adorable faces?) but this news is too exciting not to share. My husband and I are expecting our first child in early February! Needless to say, we are thrilled. I will be continuing to work through the end of the year and potentially into January, and will be back to shooting in early spring after a brief maternity leave. Kristen will be covering for me throughout my time off, so if you have a winter baby due or a special milestone in those times, have no fear! I’ve had an extremely easy pregnancy so far, but am so glad for a 2nd trimester busy season (we are gearing up for an awesome fall!) and a dead of winter baby… talk about great timing!

Just because this post wouldn’t be the same without a picture, here is an older ultrasound image. Baby was bouncing off the walls at our 12 week ultrasound so we were unable to get a good shot… it was pretty neat, though, watching it be so active! Let’s just hope it’s not quite as wild when I can actually start to feel those kicks and jabs. I am so grateful to work with lots of moms (and have one of the most fabulous moms I know working with me! As you know, Kristen is mom to 10 month old Carson), so if you have any advice for this first timer, please let me know!

all in the family

I’m in the midst of a proofing marathon (the one perk to getting rained out from shooting today!) but wanted to share two of Kristen’s recent sessions. I loved the soft, classic feel of the P. family’s session… that sibling shot screams to be put on a fine art canvas, as it is so timeless! In the next session, Erynn’s cousins were visiting for the summer and her mom arranged a session as a surprise for Grandma and the boy’s mom. Looking at these images, you would have never known that this trio weren’t brothers and sister. Ethan and William’s affection for their little red headed cousin, and her adoration for them, is quite obvious!
