Ashley is pleased to offer private, one on one workshops. Our workshops are geared toward parents and grandparents (although being a parent is not a requirement!) who are hoping to achieve a better grasp of their camera, and in turn, take better daily snapshots of their children. They are perfect for beginners, new DSLR owners and those who have anywhere from a limited to basis knowledge of their cameras. Learning to use your DSLR beyond a glorified point and shoot camera (off “auto” mode) can be daunting. Because photography is such a hands on, visual craft, learning one on one is truly the best way to go. After your sessions, you can feel confident that you’ll have a solid understanding of your DSLR and how to use it to your full advantage… no more moments missed due to blur, poor lighting and other mishaps!
Our workshops are not intended for aspiring or current professionals, and topics such as post-processing and business related matters will not be covered.
private workshops … 350.00
Includes (2) sessions. The first session (1 hour) will focus on the basics… your DSLR’s functions, lenses, exposure, shutter speed & aperture, ISO and finding the light. You will leave with “homework” to help you get to know your camera and the basics of the craft. The second session (2 hours, scheduled approximately 2 weeks later) will delve more into the creative angle and cover focus, composition and angles, white balance, lighting, and some tips and tricks. At the end of your session, we’ll take some time to practice what you’ve learned on your children. In between your sessions, you will have the ability email Ashley with your questions as you work on what you’ve learned.
You must own a DSLR and at least one basic lens (we recommend the 50mm 1.8 lens, a greater starter/all purpose lens). Sessions can be held at your home (within 30 miles of Clifton Park, NY) or at our studio in Saratoga Springs. Group workshops, at a reduced per person cost, are available for groups of 3-8 participants. Please inquire for details.
Because Ashley is a full time working photographer, she takes a very limited number of workshops each year. To reserve your private workshop, please call 518-396-9387 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
